Fall Preview

I’ve been planning my fall wardrobe since the beginning of July, crazy as that may sound. Out of all the things I’ve found, plan to buy, or already have, these five items are what I’ll be living in this fall.

chambray shirt

I’m so glad chambray shirts are in this year because I love mine to death! I plan on wearing it with everything…yes, even jeans.

varsity jacket

There’s something so nostalgic about a varsity jacket. This one combines the same feel (in a less in-your-face way) with a super-cozy sweater.

shift dress

This classic, versatile shift dress comes in four colors and has a price tag that begs you to buy more than one. There’s an endless number of ways in which you can wear it, making it an essential building block for any closet this fall. I can’t wait to wear mine with either of the two items above – belted or tied in a knot at the waist, of course.

striped jeans

It’s become official: Stripes are a neutral. Especially when they’re in this vintage black and white. I can see this pair of pants going with just about everything in my closet.

burgundy cords

Ever since I got a skirt in this burgundy color last year, it has become one of my favorite colors for fall. It goes with more than you’d think, and corduroy is just so deliciously soft that I can’t imagine another pair of pants I’d rather slip into.

Cupcake

Shirt: Forever21, Shorts: Forever21, Sandals: Aerosoles, Bangles: Kate Spade (white and gold), all others vintage, Earrings: Forever21

I wore this outfit on my birthday last month, and it’s probably one of my favorites for summer. When I first got these shorts, I was a bit nervous because they were my first patterned pair, but they’re actually one of the most versatile pieces in my closet!

Fruit Punch

august inspiration board

August makes me think of warm nights, last minute vacations, and, when it comes to clothes, rich jewel tones and breezy silhouettes. I’ve compiled some things that make me think of the last days of summer below – I was loving all of the end of season clearance items in rich, fruit-toned colors!

Summer Whites

Dress: Bass, Jacket: Ralph Lauren via TJ Maxx, Shoes: DSW

I have more white dresses than any person should. It wasn’t in heavy rotation until I put it on the other day and fell in love with it again – it’s comfortable, versatile and flattering. This dress is longer than most others I have, but I feel like that adds to the whole breezy, summery, no-makeup and loose hair feel of it when it’s worn with gold sandals.

Passion for Paris

eiffel tower

I have a deep love for Paris and all things Paris-themed. I speak some French, and although I’ve never been to the country, I hope to go there soon. In the mean time, I stock up on anything with an  Eiffel Tower on it (and the like). So naturally, I was more than thrilled when one of my favorite designers, Kate Spade, partnered with the oh-so-stylish Garance Doré to create a line of Parisian-inspired clothing, handbags and accessories. Here are my pics from the collection, along with my other recent Francophone finds.
