Showcase: H&M Paris Show Collection

Cape/Sweater/Dress/Dress/Jacket/Jacket

I am completely in love with H&M’s Paris show collection, and so happy that it’s available to buy online. How chic are these clothes? These are just a few of my favorites, but there’s a whole crop of shoes, clothes and accessories that are swoon-worthy. I’m particularly fond of the metallic embellishments and art deco-inspired detailing, as well as the wide array of textures – chiffon, velvet, wool, satin, leather…the whole collection is incredibly chic and fantastically well-rounded. I’m planning on snatching up this number and wearing it to every event of the coming season.

Office Dreaming

September is almost here, and no matter how young or old you are, it always seems to feel like back to school. This time last year, I spent hours on end at IKEA buying an unhealthy amount of office furniture (you can see stages of the reno here). I’m always looking to add to my office and improve it (my latest obsession is Poppin – where was it last year when I needed it?!), but if I had the chance to design another office space, I’d go in a slightly different direction. Right now I’m loving the idea of a clean white office with accents of gold and light pink – it’s feminine without being frilly, and classic while still being modern. Above is a little inspiration board I whipped up – everything is less than $45, too!

Agenda

I love making to-do lists, but I’ve found I really only make them and stick to them if they’re on pretty paper or in a nice notebook. I also love my monthly calendar, which I use to plot everything, from projects to events to personal things I need to do. Enter the kate spade agenda: besides being from one of my favorite designers, it’s the ultimate hybrid of the two. It gives you a monthly calendar view, plus ample room for notes and lists for each day of the month, Some other nice features? There’s a section for jotting down celebrations (how kate spade!), inspiring quotes on the monthly dividers, an interior pocket, an elastic closure, and, last but not least, gorgeous cover designs (and coordinating interiors). I’m having a seriously hard time deciding between the polka dots and stripes – which is your favorite?

Bright Lights, Big City

bigcity1bigcity2bigcity3bigcity4bigcity5

As I said in Friday’s post, I went to New York City for the weekend – and what a weekend it was. I hopped all over Manhattan and probably walked 10 miles, but I saw lots of sights and squeezed in a healthy dose of shopping on the Upper East Side (alright, so it was more like an entire day). Some of my favorite parts of the trip? Going to Mood (just the fact that I’ve stood where Tim Gunn has gives me chills) and grabbing some Marc Jacobs daisy print fabric (yes, I now own the fabric used to make pieces like this), watching New York City at night from the 37th floor of my (gorgeous) hotel, visiting the 789 Madison Avenue Kate Spade flagship store (I’d like to live there), and, last but not least, eating breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’m going back ASAP – until then, I have a boatload of fantastic memories (I might or might not have taken 330 iPhone pictures) to tide me over. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Trend Spotting

1. Minusey Bracelet 2. Baublebar Necklace 3. Baublebar Necklace 4. Baublebar Earrings 5. Minusey Cuff 6. Baublebar Necklace (the gold version shown sold out while I was writing this post believe it or not, silver version here)  7. MMM Earrings 8. Baublebar Earrings 9. Baublebar Earrings 10. Dorothy Perkins Earrings 11. Accessorize Necklace

My obsession with the growing Lucite/acrylic/perspex trend began when I saw this insanely cool, minimalist-meets-industrialist bracelet. You’d think since it’s clear, Lucite wouldn’t really make much of an impact – but each piece shown here is a shining example of how that’s not the case. Lucite can be surprisingly elegant, as shown by these decently priced MMM earrings, or as modern and edgy as it gets (the fact that this necklace is called the “Nebula Bib” instantly makes it so much cooler). Will you be hopping on the Lucite bandwagon? If so, will you go edgy or elegant?

P.S. I’m spending my weekend on an action-packed (err, shopping-packed) adventure in New York – be sure to follow along on Instagram!
