Spring in Your Step

boots

I love so many things about fall, and one that tops the list has to be the shoes. Lots of open-toe pairs can transition into September with tights, and heels are acceptable all year round. The thing that gets me is the boots. I have a slight addiction – boots in all colors and ages and styles and heights! I love that there are endless possibilities with boots – there’s riding, combat, ankle, cowboy, stiletto, mid-calf, furry…the list goes on. Not to mention they go with everything, from your favorite jeans to a cute mini to a casual dress. My favorite combo is over-the-knee boots with an above-the-knee, high-waisted skirt: it eliminates the need for tights and still looks cute. These are my top picks from the shoe parade.

Hit the Mall!

Recently, I’ve been scouting the web to find the stores I’ll be visiting frequently this fall. Although they’re already popular, these stores look like they have a lot to offer this season. Here are my top picks:

Zara

Look like you’re wearing designer without spending the price. Their fall collection is perfectly classic and modern at the same time. Right now their summer sale section is great too! Don’t miss their incredible selection of skirts – from hand embroidered minis to pencil sheaths and a quilted leather number, they’re guaranteed to make a statement.

H&M

Stylish clothes at a crazy-affordable price! Their fall collection is full of everything I’m looking for this season – neutrals, reds, feminine cuts and edgy details. Don’t miss their cardigans and sweaters – I want one in each color!

Urban Outfitters

A mecca of edgy, urban pieces (hence the name). Thier fall collection looks street-ready and comfortable, perfect for crunching through the leaves and staying warm when it gets cold out. Don’t miss their to-die-for moto jackets and blazers, or their incredible variety of pants, from a rainbow of colors to trendy black and white stripes to rich corduroy.

Fall Preview

I’ve been planning my fall wardrobe since the beginning of July, crazy as that may sound. Out of all the things I’ve found, plan to buy, or already have, these five items are what I’ll be living in this fall.

chambray shirt

I’m so glad chambray shirts are in this year because I love mine to death! I plan on wearing it with everything…yes, even jeans.

varsity jacket

There’s something so nostalgic about a varsity jacket. This one combines the same feel (in a less in-your-face way) with a super-cozy sweater.

shift dress

This classic, versatile shift dress comes in four colors and has a price tag that begs you to buy more than one. There’s an endless number of ways in which you can wear it, making it an essential building block for any closet this fall. I can’t wait to wear mine with either of the two items above – belted or tied in a knot at the waist, of course.

striped jeans

It’s become official: Stripes are a neutral. Especially when they’re in this vintage black and white. I can see this pair of pants going with just about everything in my closet.

burgundy cords

Ever since I got a skirt in this burgundy color last year, it has become one of my favorite colors for fall. It goes with more than you’d think, and corduroy is just so deliciously soft that I can’t imagine another pair of pants I’d rather slip into.
