Currently Obsessed With: Ballet Flats

One item I don’t often wear is ballet flats. It’s not that I don’t like them – I often run across lots of cute pairs – it’s just that I can never find an appropriate time to wear them. In the fall and winter, it’s too cold and I’m most likely too busy obsessing over boots, and as soon as the weather gets warm I’m in sandals and flip-flops until September. But, after recently having several instances of not having the right shoes to go with an outfit, it’s dawned on me that it’s time to invest in a reliable pair of flats (I have my eye on these). Thus started a ballet flat craze (evidence above).

My greatest fear when it comes to shopping for spring clothing is ending up with a wardrobe that looks like it was colored with highlighters. I tend to stay away from neon anyway, but when done tastefully, it adds a bright and fresh element to an outfit. I’ve been seeing pops of colors in clothes, shoes and accessories all over the place, and I can’t wait to add some to my closet.

Currently Obsessed With: Chevron

One print I don’t often consider is chevron. I so rarely see it in clothing, but I love the bright, graphic element it brings to the table. I recently picked up a navy and mint chevron dress for spring (no longer available but you can take a peek here), which has sparked a full-blown chevron obsession. After some looking around, I found quite a few zig-zagged items. My favorites are above.

Currently Obsessed With: Headbands (Take Two)

I posted about my obsession with headbands before here, but as I continue to find more and more that I love, I felt that it was time to reissue the post. I’ve found that the more I watch Gossip Girl re-runs, the more I think I need an extensive collection of headbands (like Blair). These ones I’d gladly pick up for the coming season.

And, on the subject of Gossip Girl, remember how I said my shirt reminded me of something Blair would wear in this post? Well, I was watching season 2 re-runs over the weekend, and take a peek at what I found:
