Fifteen Ways to Wear: Winter Mint (Part One)

15 things - winter mint

Pants/Sweater/Top/Dress/Top/Shoes/Sweater/Bag/Pants/Top/Shoes/Necklace/Dress/Top/Top

With the start of the new year, I’ve decided to start a new feature called Fifteen Ways to Wear. I sometimes do a similar thing with visual wishlists I make – I’ll find some items I completely love (usually about 15-20), and they usually center around a theme. One time I found a great pair of bright floral pants, and most other things I found drew colors from the pants or had slightly less impactful patterns that echoed the floral pattern. And then, in a sad attempt to justify my craving for new clothes, I would see how many outfits I could make from the fifteen or so items – and the answer was usually quite a lot.

So I’ve decided to turn this into a new blog feature. On a Monday (sorry this is a day late – technical difficulties), I’ll introduce the fifteen essential pieces, along with three outfits, and an additional three outfits each day after that (I don’t want to bore you with an unbearably long blog post, which is why I’m dividing it up).

For this month, I was loving all the spring previews I’ve been seeing in magazines and on my favorite shopping sites, as well as the continuing winter pastels trend. I’ve always been a huge fan of winter white and of minty blues and greens, so I found items that are in a range of cool tones that are grounded by grays and blacks and given a girly touch by a sprinkling of metallics and rhinestones.

Outfit One

This is a relaxed look for a weekend out running errands or a low-key event with friends like brunch. The pants eliminate the need for too many additional accessories, and the loose sweater is a nice contrast to the skinny silhouette of the pants.

Outfit Two

This is a low-maintenance look for a night out. The shift dress has a classic shape but a modern, graphic pattern and the heels add an easy glittery-metallic touch.

Outfit Three

This is another look great for a lazy day, in or out of the house. Bold yet comfortable jeans balance out the black and white geometric top, while the oxfords add a preppy element.
