I’ve had a really nice, low-key week. Besides Tuesday being incredibly rainy, the rest of the week has felt a little more like spring than past days this month, and I love it. I’ve already broken out my sandals and skirts, gone on my annual antiquing trip with a friend, and since I’m in the spring cleaning state of mind, I’ve started planning an exciting new renovation project that I’ll share next week. But for right now, I’m cooking – a lot. I made a pretty huge (but simple) brunch (recipes to come next week) that was a total success, and now I’m working on an Easter feast for tomorrow. This has been quite the week. Memorial Day weekend was so wonderful that my hopes were high coming into this week on Tuesday, but instead I crash landed into reality and had to get back to work (and pretty insane amounts of work at that). Not to mention it’s been excruciatingly hot here on the East Coast – the kind of hot that has to be observed from inside, where it’s air conditioned. In the end, I’m looking forward to the weekend – i’ll be relaxing, reading, and working on more blog posts. Only two more weeks until I’m on vacation…let the countdown begin!

In the spirit of Emily and Alicia, I’m starting a weekly segment that captures my favorite moments of the week. This week marked the end of my vacation and the return to normal life, and so now more than ever I need reminders of the nice things in life and motivation to stay positive. Happy weekend!
