Showcase: Altuzarra for Target

All, Target

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know that I always get way over-excited about the Target designer collaborations (here’s looking at you, Peter Pilotto and Philip Lim). I’ve yet to encounter one that I dislike, and the latest – Altuzarra, if you haven’t heard – might be my favorite yet. Any piece would fit in perfectly with my existing fall wardrobe…because come fall, all I wear is neutrals (yes, burgundy is a neutral too). This collection is a great mixture of texture and color, of basics and prints, of chic and relaxed. I’ve pulled all of my favorites from the collection – from the quirky crane-embroidered sweater, to the classic-with-a-twist snakeskin pencil skirt, to the elegant orchid maxi dress (I do love a good maxi).

Are you a fan of the collection? What’s your favorite piece?

Showcase: Peter Pilotto for Target

When I got my February issue of Marie-Claire a few weeks ago, I only made it about three pages in to the ads before I dropped the magazine and ran to my computer. The cause of my excitement? Peter Pilotto for Target. Now, I know Target never disappoints with their designer collabs, but this one is just too good. I hadn’t been a big follower of Pilotto before but I sure am now. This is without a doubt my favorite collection since Jason Wu (which, regretfully, I wasn’t able to get much of). But I had a tactic with 3.1 Philip Lim in the fall – get to my local Target right at 8 am and grab everything that caught my eye – and it totally worked, so that’s exactly what I’m doing this time. Granted, this collection is a little pricier than its predecessors, but are the clothes above not totally worth it? That blue-green sleeveless floral dress is at the top of my wish list – I’m already planning on wearing it to outdoor brunch this spring. What are your thoughts on this collection?

Showcase: Kate Spade, By the Book

I am, without a doubt, a print oriented person. If there’s something in writing nearby, I’ll read it. A book, a magazine, a description on the side of the waffle maker box – anything is fair game, regardless of how mind-numbingly boring it may be. That’s why I was over the moon when I found out that the Kate Spade collection for this month was centered on books (and all things smart). The glasses, the beautiful type, the cute blog features, and perhaps best of all, the Strand Bookstore collaboration – it’s all too good. I’m seriously coveting all of it….and wishing I had an iPhone 5 so I could buy all of their adorable new cases.

I always get overly giddy at the arrival of Target’s designer collaborations – as seen here, and here, and here – and 3.1 Phillip Lim is no exception. While the Jason Wu collection will always be my favorite, I’m thrilled by everything this one has to offer. Specifically, the bags. I’m having a really hard time deciding between black and yellow, and the collection doesn’t even hit stores until September 15! Overall, the collection is fantastically well-rounded, including many of this fall’s big trends. I haven’t heard or seen any mention of shoes, which is a shame, because I’d love to get my hands on a pair of the 3.1 patent slippers the models are wearing in the lookbook. Above, I’ve highlighted some of my favorite aspects the collection. Besides the bags, I’ll be grabbing up as many pieces in the floral print as I can find. What’s your favorite look?

And just so you know, on Sunday morning I’ll be standing outside my local Target, waiting for the doors to open.

Showcase: H&M Paris Show Collection

Cape/Sweater/Dress/Dress/Jacket/Jacket

I am completely in love with H&M’s Paris show collection, and so happy that it’s available to buy online. How chic are these clothes? These are just a few of my favorites, but there’s a whole crop of shoes, clothes and accessories that are swoon-worthy. I’m particularly fond of the metallic embellishments and art deco-inspired detailing, as well as the wide array of textures – chiffon, velvet, wool, satin, leather…the whole collection is incredibly chic and fantastically well-rounded. I’m planning on snatching up this number and wearing it to every event of the coming season.
